The Kunsthalle Recklinghausen offers a public guided tour of the current exhibition every Sunday at 12 noon.

This is free of charge, only the entrance fee has to be paid.
Special guided tours can be booked on request. The cost per group for a guided tour during opening hours is €55 (plus entrance fee). Guided tours outside opening hours cost €150 (plus entrance fee).

To the museum with a baby!

To the museum with a baby or toddler? Of course! The FBS and Kunsthalle invite you to a meeting of art and children. The current exhibition will be presented during a tour in a relaxed atmosphere (possible with pram/baby carrier). Afterwards there will be an opportunity to get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere in the cafeteria and to talk about art, children and much more.

A walk to art in public space

Strolling is a form of walking that places conscious observation of one's surroundings at the centre of one's actions. The walk offered is intended to sharpen the stroller's eye for the works of art in Recklinghausen's urban space, some of which are waiting to be discovered.

Supported by the German Museums Association, the Kunsthalle Recklinghausen has developed the project ‘Bringing the collection to light’ together with art educator Dr Johanna Beate Lohff. The Kunsthalle Recklinghausen collection comprises around 5000 works, most of which are stored in the depot. In line with the motto of Thomas Grochowiak, the second director of the Kunsthalle, ‘Art does not come from ability, but rather from knowledge’, the collection was to be shown in an exemplary manner. Interested groups from the Recklinghausen district were cordially invited to familiarise themselves with the Kunsthalle's own collection, select a work from it and present it in the foyer. Between 2018 and 2020, four groups explored the Kunsthalle's collection and selected the following works:
