Art defies Exclusion

An Exhibition of the Diakonie Deutschland

February 13 – April 3, 2022

The nationwide travelling exhibition by Diakonie, curated by independent curator Andreas Pitz, is an artistic rejection of xenophobia and right-wing populism, of ideologies of alleged inequality and the unequal value of people. Artists from different social and cultural backgrounds are taking part in the exhibition. Together, they challenge viewers to engage with the creation of an open, diverse and inclusive society. The exhibition is a cooperation with the Protestant parish of Recklinghausen-Altstadt, the Diakonisches Werk in Recklinghausen e.V. and the Protestant Adult Education Centre in the Recklinghausen church district.

The opening service will take place on Sunday, 13 February at 10 a.m. in the Christuskirche Recklinghausen, followed by a soft opening at 11 a.m. in the Kunsthalle.

Invitation

The exhibition will be accompanied by an extensive supporting programme organised jointly by the Protestant parish of Recklinghausen-Altstadt, the Protestant Adult Education in the Recklinghausen church district, the Diakonisches Werk in Recklinghausen e.V. and the Kunsthalle.
