Is the brush disused?

What can a painting be, achieve and mean today?

Does painting still fulfill the expectations placed on it or is a new start due? Digital technology is penetrating ever further into everyday life around the world. We are flooded with masses of computer-generated images. Never before has more information been conveyed via images. Never before have images been more important. And never before have they been easier to produce, edit and manipulate.

The exhibition "re:set" shows how artists are responding to the challenges of digitalization and virtualization through twelve positions of current non-representational painting from Germany, Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands.

We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition on sunday, February 9, at 11 am in the Kunsthalle Recklinghausen.
