February 28 - April 19, 2015

Kutscherhaus and Kunsthalle Recklinghausen

Heinz Ridder would have been 95 years old this year. He was a founding member of the Vestischer Künstlerbund and its chairman from 1955 to 1986. He played a decisive role in shaping the history of the association. To mark the occasion, the Vestischer Künstlerbund is showing 30 works by Heinz Ridder from the 1960s to the 1980s in the Kutscherhaus. The oeuvre ranges from early works from the Informal period to his last cycle, the facial landscapes.

At the same time, the Vestische Künstlerbund is using the exhibition to look back at the history of the artists' association, which was founded in the 1950s and of which Heinz Ridder was chairman for over 30 years until his death in 1986.

His impressive drawings from the immediate post-war years will be presented in a small studio exhibition at the Kunsthalle Recklinghausen.
